W2 Position | Thriving NY + Maine Group Practice

ShadowLight Center (www.shadowlightcenter.com) is a small group private practice offering integrative, holistic psychotherapy through a mind–body–soul lens (not faith-based). We believe healing isn’t only an intellectual process—it’s relational, experiential, embodied, and rooted in the living present moment. We work with the whole person: nervous system, story, emotion, meaning, ancestry, creativity, and the deep longing to come home to oneself.

We are currently seeking pre-licensed counselors working toward licensure in New York State and/or Maine who feel called to grow into an integrative, somatic, depth-oriented approach—and who want to build a steady caseload with real support. Please note we are not able to hire social workers.

This is a remote telehealth role with guaranteed supervision and a team culture grounded in collaboration, integrity, and care.

Role Options

  • Part-time: 12–16 client sessions/week

  • Full-time: 16–24 client sessions/week

  • Interns welcome (with supervision available)

Who This Role Is For

This may be a fit if you…

  • feel inspired by therapy that is experiential and embodied, not only cognitive

  • believe healing includes nervous system regulation and relational repair

  • want to develop your own authentic therapist voice in a supportive environment

  • are ready to build a meaningful caseload while being supported to do so

  • are open to mentorship, feedback, supervision, and continued growth

Applicants must be eligible to provide psychotherapy via telehealth to clients located in New York State and/or Maine, and be actively pursuing supervised hours toward licensure.

We are especially interested in clinicians who are eager to cultivate their own unique style—because we’re not looking for a “generic therapist.” We’re looking for you: your truth, your presence, your way of seeing.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide telehealth psychotherapy aligned with ShadowLight Center’s clinical approach

  • Hold a consistent caseload of 12–24 clients/week depending on role

  • Respond to inquiries and conduct consultations with professionalism and warmth

  • Complete clinical documentation and communication in a timely manner

  • Attend weekly supervision and participate in a culture of learning and growth

  • Contribute to caseload-building efforts in a way that is authentic to you (see below)

Client Populations / Clinical Focus

Our clinicians commonly support adults (and depending on training/interest, couples/families) around:

  • anxiety, depression, and stress

  • trauma and nervous system dysregulation

  • relationship patterns, intimacy, and attachment wounds

  • identity, purpose, and life transitions

  • grief, meaning, creativity, and soulful direction

You do not need to specialize in all of the above—what matters most is that you are aligned with the practice orientation and ready to develop your niche.

Our Mind–Body–Soul Approach (not faith-based)

This is our language for psychotherapy that is somatic, relational, and rooted in the deeper currents of human life.

  • Mind: depth psychology, psychodynamic, psychoanalytic, IFS, DBT, etc.

  • Body: somatic psychotherapy, Gestalt, experiential work, Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor, Polyvagal-informed work

  • Soul: meaning, meditation, ancestral/relational healing, connection to the earth and the “more-than-human world,” subtle body/energy awareness—integrated ethically and within scope of practice

You don’t have to be fully developed in every area—you’re allowed to be growing—but you do need genuine interest and openness to this kind of work.

Caseload-Building (A Transparent Note)

In today’s landscape, building a caseload is a shared effort. ShadowLight Center actively promotes clinicians through channels like Psychology Today and other platforms. We also collaborate with you to clarify your “who” and your “why”—what makes you you, what you offer, and how the right people find their way to you.

We ask therapists to participate in visibility in a way that feels aligned—not performative. This might include:

  • short grounded offerings (e.g., meditations, reflections)

  • sharing insights (ethically and appropriately) from your clinical perspective

  • creative ideas that help people understand your work and feel drawn to it

We’ll support you in shaping this so it feels real, not forced.
